How to Make a Butter Board

The viral butter board is a fun way to serve butter and bread. This butter and goat cheese version is topped with figs, prosciutto, arugula, walnuts, balsamic glaze, and fresh herbs. Serve this beautiful 15 minute appetizer at your next dinner party to impress everyone's taste buds.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 ounces salted butter softened
  • 4 ounces goat cheese softened
  • ¼ cup fig jam or preserves
  • 4 figs sliced
  • 2 slices prosciutto
  • ¼ cup arugula
  • 2 tablespoons walnuts chopped
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • flaky salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic glaze
  • fresh rosemary, oregano, thyme, or basil to garnish
  • crusty bread to serve

Instructions
 

  • Spread the butter on half of the board and goat cheese on the other half.
  • Layer on dollops of fig jam, figs, prosciutto, arugula, and walnuts.
  • Season with red pepper flakes, flaky salt, and black pepper. Drizzle balsamic glaze on top.
  • Garnish with fresh herbs and serve with toasted crusty bread or crackers.

Notes

  • This recipe is a guideline, adjust the ingredients to your taste.
  • I used a 15x9 inch board.
  • Layer parchment paper on the board for easy clean up or if your board is not food safe. Put a dollop of butter or cheese under each corner to prevent it from moving around.
  • Use high quality butter. I used Irish grass fed butter.
  • Slice the toppings into bite sized pieces to make it easy to eat.
