Forget the baskets, make an Easter candy board! This colorful board is an easy and impressive way to share treats with your family!
We spent Easter weekend glamping in Ocean City, NJ. It was a weekend full of cooking- pizza, steaks, lamb kebabs and ham on the grill.
Charcuterie boards are so fun to make and I love how creative you can be with them! Instead of the usual cheese and meat boards I usually make for holidays, I wanted to change it up and make an Easter candy board!
For this Easter board, I used a combination of Dollar Tree and Kilwins chocolates and candies.
I also made rice krispie treats with sprinkles to jazz it up.
Ingredients
- Homemade rice krispie treats
- Robin eggs
- Sour candy straws
- Party cake peeps
- Cotton candy peeps
- Peanut butter eggs
- Caramel Eggs
- Cookies & cream eggs
- Jelly beans
- Haribo happy hoppers
- Double crisp carrots
- Sea salt chocolate caramels
- Kilwins white chocolate cross
- Kilwins dark chocolate bunny
- Kilwins cashew brittle
- Kilwins caramels
How to make the best Easter candy board
- Pick your favorite assortment of chocolates and candies. Select a mix of bright colors and shapes for the Easter theme.
- Pick a large board or serving plate.
- Place your large statement pieces first.
- Use cookie cutters or small bowls to create shapes and interest.
- Have fun! Like charcuterie boards, Easter candy boards look messy and put together at the same time. Figure out the placement of your candies as you go and move things around as needed!
How to make a bird's nest
I came across party cake and cotton candy peeps and thought they were so cute. It was cool to see a few new flavors. Personally, I am not a fan of marshmallows, unless they are melted, but got them anyway because no Easter is complete without peeps!
I wanted to give the peeps a home so I made a bird's nest out of sour candy straws!
To make the bird's nest, I recommend twisting sour candy straws together before placing on the board. The straws will likely come apart- use the surrounding treats to hold the nest in place. Here I used carrots, eggs and rice krispie treats to surround the nest. Once the nest is in place, add some robin eggs!
I hope this inspires you to create your own board! I'd love to see your creations, leave a comment and tag me on Instagram @beyondthenoms. Follow me on Pinterest for more recipes!
