These Lucky Charms rice crispy treats are super fun to make and loaded with Lucky Charms marshmallows. These sweet and chewy treats are so festive for St. Patrick's Day, parties, or any day.

    The Inspiration

I was invited to a St. Patrick's Day gathering and was trying to think of what to bring. Somehow, the thought of Lucky Charms cereal came up in my head and then I realized I haven't had rice crispy treats in forever.

I love the nostalgic feeling I get when enjoying a rice crispy treat, it reminds me of childhood.

So here we are, Lucky Charms rice crispy treats!

    Why You'll Love This Recipe

    • It's super easy to make and only requires four ingredients!
    • It's a fun kid friendly treat you can make with your little ones!
    • It's a no bake snack or dessert!
    • It has a mix of both Lucky Charms cereal and rice crispy cereal so it's crunchy, crispy, and chewy!

Lucky Charms Rice Crispy Marshmallow Treats Ingredients

    • Butter- unsalted or salted will work.
    • Marshmallows- Regular or mini marshmallows. Mini marshmallows will melt faster.
    • Rice crisps cereal- I love the addition of rice crisps because it gives the treats a chewy and crispy texture.
    • Lucky Charms cereal- the star of the show. The colorful marshmallows and crunchy cereal make this a fun treat.

How to Make Lucky Charms Treats

    1. Melt the butter and marshmallows.
    2. Stir in the rice crisps and Lucky Charms cereals.
    3. Press the cereal mixture into a pan and cut into squares.

    Tasty Tips

    • Gently press the cereal mixture into the pan. Try not to compact it too tightly or the bars will be hard.
    • Use a rubber spatula or back of a measuring spoon to press the mixture into an even layer. Coat the spatula or measuring spoon with cooking spray to prevent the marshmallows from sticking to it.
    • Work quickly. Mix in the cereal and form it into the pan before the marshmallow cools. It's easier to work with while it's still warm.
    • Top the bars with more "charms" for a colorful look.

    FAQs

How do I store leftover rice crispy treats?

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.

You can also freeze them for up to a month. I recommend warming up the rice crispy treats in the microwave to soften the bars. Microwave directly from frozen in 10-15 second intervals, up to 30 seconds.

Can I make Lucky Charms rice crispy treats in the microwave?

Yes, you can make these in the microwave. Place the butter and marshmallows in a large microwave safe bowl and microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring each time, until the marshmallows are melted. Stir in the cereal, form it into a pan, and cut into squares.
