    Breakfast Sausage Spices and Seasoning

    This blend of breakfast sausage spices and seasoning is savory with a hint of sweetness. Make a batch and have it on hand for delicious morning meals!

    There's nothing like homemade breakfast sausage. Get yourself some ground pork, add these seasonings, and be prepared for the most delicious sausage.

    You can crumble it and use the sausage for so many different breakfast creations!

    • Burritos
    • Frittata
    • Crescent ring
    • Potato hash
    • Sausage, egg, and cheese on a bagel

    The beauty of making your own breakfast sausage spices is that you can adjust it to your taste by adding more or less of each ingredient.

    You can also experiment with oregano, basil, fennel seeds, ground cloves, onion powder, and nutmeg.

    Fresh sage and thyme would be delicious if you have it, use 1 tablespoon of each instead of dried herbs.

    This recipe can easily be scaled to make a jar. Store the seasoning mix in an airtight container and use within 6 months. Use about 1 ¾ tablespoons per pound of meat.

    Ingredients
      

    • 1 teaspoon brown sugar packed
    • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
    • ½ teaspoon paprika
    • ½ teaspoon poultry seasoning
    • ½ teaspoon dried sage
    • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
    • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
    • 1 teasooon kosher salt
    • ½ teaspoon black pepper

    Instructions
     

    • Combine the ingredients in a small bowl and use it to season one pound of ground pork.
