    Why You'll Love this Recipe

    • It's a fried cheese ball. Period.
    • It's full of flavor! The sweet tomatoes, rich and milky burrata, garlic, sweet and acidic balsamic glaze, and fresh basil make this appetizer a flavor BOMB!
    • It's full of textures! You've got juicy tomatoes, crispy and creamy burrata, light and crusty bread... I mean what more could you ask for?!
    • It's a beautiful yet simple dish. The striking colors and flavors are sure to impress your family and guests. They'll never know how easy it is to make!

    Ingredients

I used Italian breadcrumbs because it's seasoned with herbs but you can use panko breadcrumbs or even a mix of the two. Panko breadcrumbs will make it even crispier!

Cherry tomatoes work just as well and any neutral flavored oil will work for frying.

How to Make A Fried Burrata Ball with Tomatoes

    1. Blister the tomatoes.

    1. Coat the burrata ball in breadcrumbs and freeze for 15 minutes.
    1. Fry the burrata until golden brown.

    1. Serve with tomatoes, balsamic glaze, and basil.

    Tasty Tips

    • Pat the burrata dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture. This will help the breadcrumbs stay on.
    • Freeze the burrata for 15 minutes after coating in breadcrumbs to solidify the shell.
    • Handle the burrata gently. It's very delicate!

Serve the Burrata with Warm Crusty Bread

You have to serve this with toasted crusty bread like this rustic no knead bread, baguette, Italian, or sourdough bread.

    FAQs

    What is burrata?

Burrata is cheese made from Italian cow milk. The outer shell is solid cheese while the soft inside contains stracciatella and cream.

How do I store leftover fried burrata?

This recipe is best eaten immediately and I do not recommend storing any leftovers.

Where can I buy burrata cheese?

It took some research to find burrata cheese but I ended up finding it at Publix. Check Publix, Kroger, Target, Trader Joe's online or call your local store before making a trip.
