Ingredients
This recipe is made with a few simple ingredients. Here are a few ideas for substitutions if you're in a pinch.
- Chives can be substituted for scallions.
- I love the flavor of dijon mustard, but you can also use yellow mustard.
- Apple cider vinegar or pickle juice can be used in place of white vinegar.
How to Make Easy Deviled Eggs with Bacon
- Boil the eggs then let them cool in ice water.
- Peel the eggs and slice them in half lengthwise.
- Make the deviled egg mixture and fill the egg whites.
- Top with bacon, scallions and paprika.
Tasty Tips
- Don't overcook the eggs. Whether you cook your eggs on the stovetop, or in the pressure cooker or air fryer, just make sure you don't overcook them! We want the ultimate creaminess and fluffiness from those yolks!
- Adjust the seasonings to your taste. Like your deviled eggs with more zing and sharpness? Add more vinegar or dijon mustard.
- Place the filling in a piping bag to make it easier to fill the eggs. You can even use a Wilton 1M tip to make it prettier.
- Serve chilled or at room temperature. I personally prefer eating deviled eggs at room temperature, just bring the plate out 30 minutes before serving.
FAQs
Where do deviled eggs get their name?
The word deviled is a term from the 18-19 century that was used to describe spicy, zesty, and condiment filled foods.
Can I make deviled eggs ahead of time?
You can make deviled eggs up to 3 days ahead of time and store in an airtight container in the fridge. This will give the flavors a chance to meld anyway! It will be even better if you store the egg yolk mixture separately from the whites and fill the egg whites when you're ready to serve.
